New Freedom, New Responsibilities

Summer Program logoSpring is now in full bloom as we kick into high gear and we are just a few months away from our jam-packed summer session!

We have programming in place to dispel the mysteries of attending college or other post-secondary options for students 16-19 with Asperger’s and other Learning Differences. The CIP summer session will help prepare students as they turn their thoughts to the next phase of their lives.

Students will gain new self-advocacy skills and understand how to best access and work within the systems they may be interacting with beyond high school. The “age of majority” will soon be a fact of life, if it isn’t already, and students attending CIP’s summer session can approach their futures armed with plenty of accurate information and confidence.

Getting around a campus doesn’t have to be scary. We’ll teach students the how and why of campus services with an entertaining scavenger hunt to make them expert navigational experts whether they are going to the office of disabled student services, assistive technology lab or knowing where to get tutoring or additional supports.

New freedom comes with new responsibilities as students transition into adult life. Tackling new classes means knowing how to become a maestro of time management. We have strategies, tips and real life examples that will be provided not only by teaching staff but by our upper-classmen who currently attend our full program.

There is much, much more so if you haven’t completed your application, hurry as there is limited space available.
