Kennedy Space Center: Wow!!! What an exciting weekend with the students. Among the many activities the students took part in this weekend they were particularly excited about visiting the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL. After thorough security checks at KSC the students were able to walk the grounds of KSC, listen to a historical breakdown of the space program and watch a video production of the Space Shuttles flights into space. The students also had a once in a lifetime opportunity to witness both space shuttles on their prospective launch pads simultaneously. This has not been done in years so the students not only had the chance to visit KSC but also have a unique experience that not many people can say they have had.

Parent Weekend: Parent weekend is rapidly approaching here at the Brevard Center. Parent Weekend will take place October 8-12. Residential Staff is looking forward to welcoming all parents to the Brevard Center. Residential Staff is hosting a Bowling Tournament for all parents and students on Saturday, October 11. Prices and awards will be given for Best Team Score, Most Strikes and Most Games Won. It will be an exciting day!!!!

Halloween Festivities: The Student Senate will be hosting a Halloween Fun Night on Friday, October 31. Halloween falls on a Friday this year so the Student Senate found it fitting to host a night of games, spooky movies, music and entertainment.

Spring Break Trip: Residential staff took a student poll to decide where the students would like to go on their Spring Break trip in April of 2009. The students decided that they would like to go on a cruise to either the Bahama’s or the Carribean. The cruise will sail from either Cape Canaveral, FL or Ft. Lauderdale, FL. and will be a 5 to 7 day cruise. Preperations are being made at this time.
