Spring Break Takes Brevard to Washington D.C.
By Travis McArthur, Residential Coordinator
During the Brevard Center’s Spring Break, I went with a group of students to Washington D.C. On the trip we experienced many things including new food, new cultural experiences and an assortment of fascinating museums. We stayed in our nation’s capital for six nights and saw as much as we could.
On the first day, after we checked into the hotel, we took a stroll through the National Mall and got our first glimpse of the Capital Building and the Washington Monument. We ate lunch at Union Station and then explored the shopping there. Later, we continued to discover more of Washington’s sights, and experienced the city at night.

Quite a few students turned out for the event, along with some parents and several staff members.

Get Ready For Spring Break 2010!
Students enrolled at CIP have the option of attending a fun and educational travel program one week a year during the college spring break in March. This year CIP students will diverge across the world to Ireland, Hawaii, Washington D.C. and a Caribbean Cruise!
Students prepare for this trip through a series of class meetings in which they study the language, arts, culture and trip itinerary. Each year an exciting new world destination is chosen and students get a cultural experience they will never forget with staff and their peers.
